well, we are sitting in the philadelphia airport after our 9 hour flight home from rome! excuse my language, but what a BIATCH that flight was. someone was farting pretty much the whole 9 hours, and they were very close to our seats. so it stank the whole time. i'm pretty sure the flatulent culprit was one of the elders sitting near us...they have little to no control.
anyway, our last couple days in rome were a blur! we fit in 2 trips to the vatican, several churches, several fountains, a bus tour, LOTS of food, and some serious shopping into 48 hours. jess was with us late tuesday and for most of wednesday. we were really lucky she came to visit, as she guided us to some great spots that we would have missed otherwise! we're both insanely jealous though that she gets to stay in cortona for another month...our day-trip out to visit her was by far our favorite part of the 9 days.
america, however, is sucking the life out of us at this point. mainly the philly airport - i hate this place and will avoid it in the future at all costs. they took our salami at customs and they took my pride! and nick got raped and pillaged again in the security line - again the culprit was an elder. she was being a whore and cutting the line and decided to go underneath the retractable nylon rope thingy. she apparently got herself stuck up under there and the rope came undone and unfortunately whacked nick in the forehead on its journey home. he has a small bruise.
we're boarding on our flight shortly - hopefully no one shits themselves on this flight. we'll do another post tomorrow with remaining pictures!!
